HOSPITAL INFECTIONS

Hospitals can reduce the risk of wound infection after surgery by making sure patients get the right medicines at the right time on the day of their surgery. These quality measures show some of the recommened treatments for surgical infection prevention.

The data in the first two rows, ventilator and central line infections, represents data reported to the CDC for the time period of July 2010 - June 2011. It is displayed as a rate of infections per 1000 ventilator or central line days. The remaining columns show percentages calculated from Medicare discharges for the time period April 2010 - March 2011.

*2 means this measure is not applicable to this hospital or no data is available.
