Laboratory
Othello Community Hospital provides a wide range of clinical laboratory services 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Our state-of-the-art equipped laboratory is staffed with highly qualified medical technologists. It is licensed by the Washington State Department of Health and operates under the supervision of a consulting pathologist. We work closely with our physicians to help them make quicker and better decisions for their patients. Tests are provided in the following categories:

Chemistry
Complete metabolic profile, therapeutic monitoring, cardiac screen and lipid profiles (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL). -
Hematology
Performs complete blood counts for chemotherapy patients and people with ailments such as anemia. -
Blood Bank
Types and processes blood for patient transfusions. -
Microbiology
Assists in the diagnosis of infections such as urinary, respiratory, or blood. -
Immunology/Serology
Screens for diseases such as mononucleosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and auto-immune antibodies indicative of diseases such as multiple sclerosis and monitors anticoagulant therapy. -
Urinalysis
Evaluates kidney functions, abuse of drugs detection.

For outpatient specimen collections, you may come to the laboratory Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. We will gladly accommodate specimens at other times with prior arrangement. Please note that a physician order is required for all tests.
